Earth System Sciences (ESS) are increasingly in the focus of the wider public, addressing crucial global challenges such as land-use change or environmental pollution. Data from many disciplines have to be integrated to enable a holistic problem analysis and to develop novel scientific approaches to tackle ESS problems. Thus, collaborative research data management (RDM) facilitates linking data, methods and tools across disciplines as needed.
